Authorization Request The processor contacts the cardholder’s bank (via card networks like Visa, Mastercard, etc.) to check if funds are available. Approval or Decline The bank responds with an approval or decline—usually within 1-3 seconds. Receipt and Confirmation A receipt is printed or sent digitally.
